VisitPittsburgh and East Coast Volleyball, Inc.
have teamed up again this year to present the
SPECIAL division of the
East Coast Junior Girls Volleyball Championships presented by ASICS,
known as the
“BEAST of the East.”
The “BEAST of the East” will be played as part of the
East Coast Junior Girls VolleyballChampionships
held May 29-31, 2010
(12) 18 and under teams, and (12) 17 and under teams will compete in a series of Best-of-5 matches. The BOE is a prestigious event that is designed to introduce your players to collegiate and/or USJO Open National competition formats.
Two pools of six teams each will be decided by best of five set matches against each team in your pool. Due to popular request, we have modified the format to provide for wave play on Saturday and Sunday, while adding Gold, Silver and Bronze playoff brackets on Monday. Teams are guaranteed five best of five set matches during Saturday and Sunday, plus one or two best of three set matches on Monday, as long as we have a full field of 12 teams.
All USAV teams that secure a bid in the 17 Open or 18 Open division, or 17/18 Club division at any 2010 USAV Qualifier, and all winners of their respective 2010 Open Regional Championships shall be eligible for entry into the “BEAST of the East” Division of the East Coast Junior Volleyball Championships sponsored by VisitPittsburgh and East Coast Volleyball, Inc.
Entry offers shall be based on the following order:
1. Open Bid Winners of the 2010 Qualifiers
2. National Bid Winners of the Club Divisionof the 2010 Qualifiers
3. First place Winners of the Open Division of their respective Regional Championships
4. At-Large applications
At large applications shall be accepted based upon seeding.
